I found my inspiration for this collection from my need for a decorative stash box for my coffee table and a trip to the Met's Faberge Egg Exhibit. I've always collected boxes and was taken with the complexity and beauty of these pieces. I decided I wanted to create my own version in clay using a variety of spherical forms and contemporary surface designs. The top and bottom of each box is separately hand thrown. After the two pieces are tightly fit together they are then trimmed as one. An original template is then created and the piece is hand painted and glazed. They are an intriguing accent in any room.
